On the occasion of the 75th year of Independence, Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August 2022 after the 6.45 am mass on the church premises, under the initiative of CAL Bendur. The Indian flag was hoisted by Sr Rose Celine BS, the Superior General of Bethany convent. The National anthem was sung as a sign or respect to the flag.
The members of CAL sang a patriotic song, following which the preamble of the constitution was recited. Sr Rose Celine BS, spoke of the importance of independence and addressed the current state of our country and the people even after attaining Independence years ago. V. Rev. Fr Vincent Monteiro, parish priest, addressed the gathering.
Rev. Fr Ronson Pinto- Asst. parish priest, Rev. Fr Vivian Rodrigues- Asst. parish priest, Mr Stephen Pinto- Vice president of Parish council and Mrs Mavis Rodrigues- secretary of Parish council were present.
