The Annual Catechism day of our Parish was celebrated on Sunday, 23rd February, 2020 in a worthy manner.
Our Parish Priest celebrated the Thanksgiving Mass at 9.15 a. m. In his homily he highlighted that we are all Children of God & he invited us to live a holy life. It is our duty not only to love one another but also forgive one another. The Parents, teachers and children actively participated in the Liturgy and Choir.
After the Mass there was a brief stage programme. The compere Ms Mercine Pereira began the programme with some wonderful introductory word’s.
Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Vincent Monteiro, Asst. Parish Priest’s Fr. Rohan Dias and Fr. Nelson Peris, Catechism Coordinator and the Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council Mr. Stephen Pinto were on the Dais.
The teachers and children shared their experience’s of the year. Prizes were distributed to those who maintained 100 percent attendance and also to the toppers in the catechism exam. The teachers were honoured with a memento for their voluntary service.
The Parish Priest thanked the Superior of St. Agnes Institution’s for providing classrooms to conduct the catechism classes. He also thanked the Sisters and teachers and called upon the lay people to come forward voluntarily to teach catechism. He also thanked the donor’s of refreshments and specially thanked P.P.C Secretary Mrs. Mavis Rodrigues & Mr. Terence Cardoza for the cooperation. The programme concluded with the hymn O give thanks to the Lord for He is good.
