Newly built dining and kitchen room was inaugurated by Msgr Leslie Shenoy on 4th October 2021 at St Sebastian church Bendur. Assistant parish priest Rev Fr Ronson Pinto conducted the prayer service. By sprinkling the holy water parish priest V Rev Fr Vincent Monteiro blessed the dining and kitchen rooms.
74th birthday of Msgr Leslie Shenoy was celebrated on the same day in the Msgr Leslie Shenoy community hall. The program stared with a prayer hymn sung by youth choir team. V Rev Fr Vincent Monteiro welcomed each and every one gathered for the function. In his inaugural speech he said October 4 will be a memorable day for Bendur parishioners because we are celebrating inauguration of new dining and kitchen, 74th birthday of Msgr Leslie Shenoy and first anniversary of this hall. He specially thanked and greeted Msgr Shenoy for sponsoring the dining and kitchen hall.
Msgr Leslie Shenoy celebrated his 74th birthday by cutting the cake. Youth choir sang a wishing song which was written by Fr. Ronson Pinto. Vice president, Stephen Pinto in his words of felicitation said, Msgr have remained as a pillar of support to Bendur parish by spiritually and monetarily. His generosity will be remembered by our next generations. Monsignor was honoured with the handmade shawl and bouquet by the dignitaries on the stage.
Msgr Leslie Shenoy in his address said that he is happy and proud that he was able to fulfil the dream of the parish priests which will be benefited for many.
This was followed by honouring Lawrence Cutinha, the architect, Richard Rodrigues, the contractor, Suresh Dsouza electrical contractor, site supervisor Naveen, Stevan for aluminium and steel works, Clerence Lobo for JCB works and supervisor Ravi Fernandes who had worked hard for the completion of the project in time. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mavis Rodrigues, secretary, parish pastoral parishad and compeering was done by Vinod D’Souza, convener, youth and Cultural Committee.
